MacFutures was co-founded by Magnus Greaves and Jamie Macleod. It was the largest and most successful proprietary trading group and trading arcade at the time it was acquired by Refco Ltd in 2004 for around $50MM. The business was re-branded as Refco Trading Services.
During the collapse and subsequent bankruptcy of Refco in October 2005, Refco Trading Services was sold to as part of Refco’s global brokerage business to Man Financial, who sold Refco Overseas the European part to the hedge fund Marathon Asset.
Marathon rebranded the business as Marex Financial.
Although Marex remains an elite proprietary trading firm, the brokerage part of the business has done exceptionally well following and has somewhat eclipsed the prop trading side of the business.

if you had bothered to read the entry you posted on, you’d have noticed that Refco went bust and are therefore unlikely to require your services, though they could have perhaps made use of the $4BN back in 2005 – you’re six years too late to help them out i’m afraid.
