Senior Management
Steve Roberts – Chief Executive Officer
Steve Roberts began his career in 1983 as a Messenger for commodity brokerage and trading firm, Woodhouse, Drake and Carey before beginning his trading career for the same company in 1989 on the Sugar, Coffee and Cocoa Floor of the London Commodity Exchange (LCE). In 1994 Steve moved to the International Petroleum Exchange working for Trafalgar Commodities as Senior Brent Trader in the open outcry markets. Whilst at Trafalgar Steve was appointed a member of the IPE Brent Trading Pit Committee. In 2001 Steve founded SJR Futures and continued to build a successful career trading on behalf of clients such as Goldman Sachs and Phibro whilst continuing to trade his own energy portfolio. After a short spell as Senior Energy Trader at Refco Overseas Steve co-Founded Roberts & Cowley Ltd in 2005 which continued to trade successfully until Steve joined ICE Futures Europe. Steve currently oversees the day-to-day running of Oak Futures. .
Julian Cowley – Chief Operating Officer
Julian Cowley began his trading career working for Trafalgar Commodities in 1989 before being employed by Goldman Sachs as their trading representative on the International Petroleum Exchange. Julian was then approached to join Prudential Bache as their Senior Brent Pit Trader where he formed a successful career before joining Steve at Trafalgar Commodities. In 2001 Julian founded LGS Energy and continued to trade the European and US markets until the demise of open out-cry trading. In 2005 Julian again joined Steve as a Senior Energy Trader for Refco before becoming a co-Founder of Roberts and Cowley Ltd. In 2008 Julian became a Director of LGS Futures before becoming COO and co-Founder of Oak Futures..
Phil Glover – Director of Operations
Phil Glover’s trading career began with Merrill Lynch in 1990 on the International Petroleum Exchange. Initially working as a phone clerk he later became a pit trader where he was approached by Goldman Sachs to assist in establishing a floor team. After two successful years Phil joined Steve at Trafalgar Commodities before moving on to Prudential – Bache as a Brent Pit Trader and also as member of the Brent Pit Committee. In 2001 Phil established NTH Commodities Ltd where he ran a successful crude oil book, trading multiple strategies across both UK and US markets. 2010 saw Phil join Oak Futures as Director of Operations and Senior Energy Trader."
